    Project Management

Ensuring your projects run successfully and are delivered on time and on budget

Delivering a project within time and budget is a fine art, but we believe there are several key principles to achieving this. They are all simple and easily implemented, but together ensure a much higher chance of delivering what you want, when you want it, within budget.

    Solid planning

The first stage of our project planning is to define with you what you are looking for. Having a good grasp of the project requirements, and being able to communicate how we plan on translating them into an online project is key. A normal project plan document will describe each of your requirements, and any associated technologies. Traditionally we will then create a wireframe of the site itself to give you a more visual guide to how the website will manifest itself online.
By doing this we can ensure that both parties have the same vision for the project going forward.

    Avoiding Scope creep

Scope creep is by far one of the biggest risks to a project. By Scope creep we mean where a project has been defined as certain functionality, but due to a variety of reasons extra functionality is added. This not only increases the time and cost of the project but it also compromises any existing planning.
By following the process above we can normally avoid scope creep. As a recommendation we document any extra features that are required and move them into a phase 2 development. In this way phase one is not impacted.

    Reducing Risks

There are certain inherent risks in all projects. The key to delivering a project successfully is anticipating those risks and either mitigating their impact or eliminating them altogether.
Most projects have very common risks. Tight timescales, sourcing media and data, workforce resourcing and budget management all play a part in nearly every project. It is only by spending time planning a project, going into real depth about what the requirements are, who the audiences are and what the key deliverables are that you can really have a firm grasp on where potential risks may occur.
Once we have all the factors above documented we can sit down with you and discuss how each of them can be address in turn. Only by having this close working relationship with clients have we managed to maintain such a successful project delivery record.
